Commodore Arif brings over 34 years of extensive leadership experience across the Bangladesh Navy, the United Nations, and global military and civilian sectors. Having retired as a Commodore from the Bangladesh Navy, he has held numerous high-level command and administrative positions, including:
- Administrative Authority of a Naval Area
- Director Personnel Services at Naval Headquarters
- Commanding Officer of various Naval Warships and Bases
- Managing Director of Chittagong Dry Dock Limited
- Security & Naval Adviser to the Chief of Naval Staff
- Contingent Commander, United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon
- Operations Officer, United Nations Mission in Sudan
Commodore Arif’s distinguished career reflects deep expertise in leadership, strategic business planning, human resources management, policy formulation, and talent optimization. He has facilitated UN contingents, managed complex equipment logistics, led maritime capacity-building programs, and consistently optimized resources to achieve operational excellence.
An alumnus of the National Defence College, Dhaka, completed the Armed Forces War Course and the National Defence Course. He is a graduate of Defence Services Command & Staff College.
